May 19th to 25th is National Volunteer Week in Australia.
Volunteers gain as much as they give, is a common saying among those who are already volunteering. There are so many ways of volunteeting, friends to make and the satisfaction of serving our communities, locally or world-wide.
Rotary offers not one way of volunteering - but many. From Environmental activities to enhance our community, Peace building to tackle Domestic Violence and general community harm, furthering the Health and Educational outcomes of those in less advantaged communities as well as many other opportunities to serve.
Volunteering provides a 'peace of mind' and 'self esteem' through helping others less fortunate.
Maybe this year's National Volunteers Week, is the time for you to reflect and decide whether you should join a Service organisation such as Rotary or a local community organisation. Think about it.
