The Rotaract Club of Deakin University Geelong was Chartered on Tuesday 14th November 2006.
This club was chartered by the Rotary Club of Geelong East.
The Club became an incorporated body and changed its name to the Rotaract Club of Barwon in 2015. This name change was an important step in declaring the club open to membership outside of Deakin University, in order to strengthen our community ties and continue our great work.

Our members are active members of our community who have fun and meet new people who also have a passion for volunteering. Our activities in the past include both local and international community service activities on a voluntary basis. Rotaract also offers personal and professional development, social and travel opportunities.

The club has members who are both local and international students of the university.  In the early years the club consisted primarily of international students. After these students departed the club moved through a phase of transition and regrowth, to its current position in 2015 with over 20 members who are both local and international students.

We are currently the youngest club in Rotaract District 9780, but continue to grow and form an important part of the district with clubs from Ballarat South East, and Warnambool. Each of these clubs are unique, but unite under the common missions of Rotaract Internationally.
